    About the book: 2019 / The book is dedicated to the history of Belarusian state building in the context of the Soviet-Polish confrontation in 1918–1921. In the period from the Brest-Litovsk Peace Conference to the signing of the Soviet-Polish Peace Treaty in 1921, state formations were successively proclaimed in the Belarusian territories: the Belarusian People's Republic, the Lithuanian-Belarusian Soviet Republic, the BSSR. Poland also tried to implement its scenario of restoring the union Lithuanian-Belarusian state and then creating Belarusian autonomy. The book reveals the motives behind the decisions made by the RSFSR and Poland on territorial and national problems in the region. An analysis of the positions of the main political forces of Belarus on the fate of the Belarusian lands in the conditions of the division of the region, forms of participation of Belarusian political groups in determining the fate of their homeland was carried out. What factors influenced Poland's territorial claims to the RSFSR at the first stage of the Polish-Soviet conflict in February 1919 - April 1920? How was the Belarusian problem resolved during the Soviet-Lithuanian and Soviet-Polish peace conferences in 1920–1921? Slogans of national self-determination became only a cover for the clash of interests of the two powers, which had far-reaching consequences for the region, which found itself at the junction of the Versailles and Soviet security systems.
