About the book: 1998 / "Notes" by Colonel of the Russian Service Christopher Manstein (1711–1757) is a valuable source on the history of Russia in the first half of the 18th century. As a person close to the Russian court, Manstein left characteristics of his contemporaries, Russian statesmen of that time, and gave a valuable description of palace intrigues and coups, as well as military campaigns of the 40s of the 18th century.
