MediaDB / «Two worlds and love" by Arie Woodka: download fb2, read online
About the book: 2016 / Arie (Yuri) Woodka lives with his family in Israel. He writes poetry and theological works, both in Russian and Hebrew. During his first years in Israel, he worked as an engineer at one of Israel's military factories, and now he is a teacher of Torah and Hebrew. This man, who has a brilliant command of the poetic Russian language, has become accustomed to the Sacred Language, which he is trying to “save from the scum of lack of culture.” In 1969, Yuri Vudka was a student in Ryazan, when a police knock on the door interrupted the normal course of his life for seven years. He and three friends were sentenced to prison for Zionist propaganda. He served his sentence, including in the Vladimir prison. It was there that his philosophy of life crystallized. Since his arrival in Israel, Woodka has published several books in Russian and Hebrew. Like many other prisoners of Zion, he turned to the genre of memoirs. Not limiting himself to camp stories, he also wrote a lot about “inner cleansing” and “spiritual growth behind bars.” It is interesting that some Kabbalists refer to the most heartfelt passages in his book. In the camp, Arie composed many poems, which he translated into Hebrew in Israel and published along with translations into Hebrew by Mandelstam, Pasternak, Akhmatova and other favorite Russian authors. With what node did Sinai mark me? And how to overtake the bridge through the centuries? His incomprehensible hand reigns over this tank steppe.
