  • MediaDB / «From Leningrad to Berlin. Memories of an artilleryman about the war and fellow soldiers. 1941–1945" Andrey Marchukov: download fb2, read online

About the book: 2015 / "Artillery - the god of war." “Out of thousands of formidable batteries, for the tears of our mothers, for our Motherland - fire! fire!" - sung in the “March of the Artillerymen”. But artillery is not only the most important guarantee of victory. This is also hard daily work, military life, human destinies. This book is about the artillerymen of the 334th Red Banner Artillery Regiment (142nd Red Banner Rifle Division), the 30th Officer Training Artillery Regiment and the 69th Army, who defended Karelia and Leningrad, crossed the Vistula and took Warsaw, Danzig and Berlin. This book is about the terrible siege of Leningrad. About battles and everyday life at the front. Its core consisted of my grandfather’s memories: about the war and a little about peace, about his military path and the fate of his fellow soldiers. And around this core a study was built, entirely based on archival materials stored in the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. About the combat path of these units and formations and about the people who fought in them. The book is equipped with rich illustrative material.
