About the book: 2012 / The book of the famous writer and journalist Captain 1st Rank V. Shigin tells about two tragic episodes in the annals of the Baltic Fleet - the mysterious the mutiny in 1906 on the favorite cruiser of Emperor Nicholas II “Memory of Azov” and the surrender to the British in 1918 of the two newest destroyers “Spartak” and “Avtroil”. If not for the quick and brutal suppression, the mutiny on the cruiser should have been the beginning of a series of uprisings on the ships of the Baltic Fleet remaining after Port Arthur and Tsushima. The case of the surrender of two Russian ships, practically without a fight, has never been repeated in the history of the Soviet Navy.
