About the book: 2008 / This publication is a collection of articles by Julius Evola (1898–1974) - a famous Italian traditionalist thinker. All articles are united by a common theme - the theme of war. Above all the material and physical consequences of war are the consequences of a spiritual nature, and in this regard it is impossible to ignore the topic of personal heroic experience. Evola considers such issues as the possible consequences of war for modern man, various types of heroism, and racial aspects of war. The author especially dwells on the topic of “holy war”, drawing on materials from Roman, Scandinavian, Indo-Aryan and other traditions. War is seen by Evola as a means of spiritual transformation of man, allowing him to transcend “the human, all too human.” The cover design uses an element of the painting by Hugo Hoppener (Fidus)
