MediaDB / «Neighbors on the planet Insects" Yuri Dmitriev: download fb2, read online
About the book: 1977 / In this book you will read about our most numerous insect neighbors on the planet. But they are not our only neighbors, because there are also amphibians (amphibians) and reptiles (reptiles)... and birds... and of course, mammals. And there are also arachnids, worms, centipedes... About a million species of insects are now known. Amphibians - More than 2000 species, reptiles - about 6000. Now approximately 8600 live on earth species of birds, mammals - about 3,500 species, arachnids, worms and centipedes - at least 60,000 species. All these neighbors on the planet will be discussed in the following books. Six-legged neighbors on the planet. Harmful and useful, dangerous and necessary, mysterious and familiar... They live nearby, they live around, they are everywhere. And entomology - the science of insects - is one of the very important sciences. But insects are far from our only neighbors on the planet, playing a huge role in its life and in the lives of people. And it is no coincidence that arachnalogy - the science of spiders, herpetology - the science of reptiles and amphibians, and ostrocology - the science of crustaceans - appeared relatively recently, took shape and gained strength. The “old” sciences have also made enormous progress: ichthyology - the science of fish, ornithology - the science of birds, and theriology - the science of mammals. Amazing discoveries are being made by scientists in various fields of zoology, but the main conclusion is the firm conviction that we must be very sensitive and attentive to the animal world of our planet, that we cannot exist without our neighbors on the planet. The author tried to explain this here with an example six-legged animals, this will be discussed using the example of other animals in the following books by Yu. Dmitriev. The book is dedicated to current problems of modern entomology and at the same time is a kind of guide to the world of six-legged animals. Its goal is to show the place and role of insects in scientific and technological progress and in the preservation of the biosphere.
