The Bashkir fairy tale evilly ridicules the oppressors of the people: padishahs, khans, bais. Despite the fact that the fairy tale tells about the hard life of the poor, orphans, and stepdaughters, it is still more often cheerful than sad. Humor is inherent in the Bashkir fairy tale, perhaps to a greater extent than in any other fairy tale. In the unhurried, calm nature of the narration one can feel the “inner strength of the people”, the confidence that the truth will prevail.
