MediaDB / «Christmas" John Tolkien: download fb2, read online
About the book: year / Once upon a time an unusual literary discovery occurred. Two previously unpublished poems by the author of The Lord of the Rings, John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, have been discovered in England, writes the BBC. In fact, the poems were found a long time ago; they were simply not published or talked about to the general public. The poems "Noel" and "The Shadow Man" were published in 1936 in the yearbook of Our Lady's School, Abingdon, a year before the release of The Hobbit. It is believed that Tolkien was in touch with the school while he was teaching Old English at Oxford University. The discovery took place thanks to scientist Wayne Hammond, who is involved in Tolkien's work. In his personal notes the writer once mentioned that two of his works had appeared in a magazine which he himself called The Abingdon Chronicle. Source: http://samlib.ru/d/din_r/tolkien_noel.shtml
