The company carried out a wide marketing campaign. As a result, many myths arose. which surrounded the plane for many years. Great hopes inspired by the manufacturer resulted in the idea of ​​​​the extraordinary characteristics of the machine, which also had a very unusual design. One myth, for example, was that the P-39 was not really a fighter. but a flying cannon, since the designers created, first of all, a flying carriage for a 37-mm gun. Another myth claims that if the turbo had not been removed from the aircraft, it would have been the best aircraft of World War II. Every legend contains a grain of truth, but these myths should not be taken on faith without the slightest attempt to verify their truth.
