About the book: 1985 / Gorenshtein Friedrich Naumovich, b. in 1932 in Kyiv. Graduated from the Higher Screenwriting Courses of the USSR Union of Cinematographers. In the early sixties, the magazine Yunost published his story “The House with a Turret,” which turned out to be the writer’s first and last publication in his homeland. He worked a lot in the field of cinema. Based on his scripts, several feature films and documentaries were produced in the Soviet Union, including Solaris, directed by A. Tarkovsky. After participating in the uncensored almanac Metropol, Gorenstein was forced to emigrate. Lives in West Berlin.
