About the book: 2021 / Francis Carsac is the pseudonym of Francois Bordas, a French paleoanthropologist, specialist in Quaternary geology, one of the most famous science fiction writers in France . Karsak’s first creative experiments occurred during the war years, but the novel he wrote in the forests of the Dordogne about a trip to Mars, entitled “On a Sterile Planet,” was not published for a long time and was published only in the late 90s. His first publication dates back to 1954. Somewhat later, the stories “Rust Stains” and “Hatching” appeared in the magazine “Fixion” (“Fantasy”). During the 50-60s. Karsak wrote five more novels, including “Robinsons of Space” (1955), “Escape of the Earth” (1960), “This World is Ours” (1962), “Our Homeland is Space” (1962), “Lions of Eldorado” ( 1967). Karsak's stories periodically appeared in magazines and anthologies, among which we can note such as “Window to the Past,” “The Man Who Spoke to the Martians,” “The Kiss of Life,” “The Ancestor,” “The Voice of the Wolf,” “The Deity Who Comes with wind”, etc. Some of them, together with the story “Mountains of Destiny”, were included in the collection “A Look into Another” (1966).
