About the book: 1987 / Yuri Shcheglov. Thirst for Justice: Historical Narrative. Tale. / Afterword: M. Shatrov. Magazine version. Published in the magazine Youth. 1987, No. 11. pp. 13–35. The story “Thirst for Justice” introduces little-known pages of the civil war in the North of Russia. The main character is an employee of the People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs, a peasant by origin and an urban proletarian by way of life. Eighteen-year-old Alexey Kryukov accepted the revolution as an event that marks the formation of a new society in which fair laws are not only adopted, but also implemented by everyone without exception. Of course, historical prose, but not only: the questions to which Alexey is looking for his answers remain today still topical for people. “The Thirst for Justice” was written “from time, the burning and cleansing breath of which we will always feel,” says the afterword to the story, first published by Yunost magazine».
