This publication not only reconstructs the folklore traditions of Jewish communities around the world and represents the cultural heritage of the Jewish people in its diversity and originality, but also describes it from a scientific perspective: fairy tales are provided with comments that allow you to understand cultural, historical, ethnographic realities, trace the history of the existence and development of the plots , themes and images both in the context of regional cultural characteristics and in interaction with world literature. The second volume includes tales of Yiddish-speaking Jews in Eastern Europe. Their rich oral culture is famous, among other things, for such a striking phenomenon as Hasidic folklore.16+
