About the book: year / Journalist Mirra goes to a remote village to write an article about a wedding on the instructions of a mysterious customer. She doesn’t know whose wedding it is, but on the train she meets two people who are going there. One of the local residents, a young man named Stepan, is waiting for them on the platform. Stepan clearly knows more than he says, and also believes in goblin, brownies and mermaids, does not store food in the house and would never risk going out at night. The very first stop at a hunting lodge on the way to the village makes Mirra understand that Stepan is not so strange after all. The very place where they are going is strange and frightening. Here the dead roam the roads, and residents leave treats for them. And the more time Mirra spends in the village, the more it seems to her that she has taken a one-way ticket. Will she be able to return home or will she have to stay here forever, also believing in what she previously considered an invention of dreamers??
