About the book: 1967 / Driving past a construction site at night, Mike Hammer hears a child crying and decides to look into the situation. At the site, he finds the body of a disfigured naked girl, covered with a “shiny green negligee with a belt around the waist.” After some time, the private detective receives a message from a thug in prison on Hammer’s initiative, in which he asks him to find his own sister. In a strange way, these two events turn out to be interconnected.
