About the book: 2016 / The monograph is dedicated to the actions of mass extermination of the Jewish population in the occupied territory of Ukraine in 1941-1944. During these years, on the Ukrainian lands there were several administrative-territorial units created by the occupation authorities: the Reichskommissariat “Ukraine”, the governorate “Transnistria”, the district “Galicia” (as part of the General Government), as well as territories governed by the German military administration, Romanian and by the Hungarian authorities. The Reichskommissariat “Ukraine” and the Governorate “Transnistria” covered the territory of 13 modern regions of Ukraine (Vinnitsa, Volyn, Dnepropetrovsk, Zhitomir, Zaporozhye, Kyiv, Kirovograd, Nikolaev, Odessa, Poltava, Rivne, Kherson and Khmelnitsky) and the city of Kyiv. The monograph reflects the events that took place within these territorial units. The authors, based on an analysis of a large corpus of documents from the archives of various countries, make an attempt to recreate the tragic picture of the past. Many documents are being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. For researchers, university teachers, secondary school teachers, undergraduates, graduate students and anyone interested in the history of the Holocaust.
