About the book: 2011 / Fairly criticized Soviet historiography had specific, purely ideological omissions and exclusions. The USSR fully supported and strengthened the so-called. "socialist community", mainly consisting of the Eastern European countries of "people's democracy": Bulgaria, Hungary, East Germany, Poland, Romania and Czechoslovakia. In the historical aspect, examples of the joint struggle of the peoples of these countries and the USSR against common enemies were widely promoted. At the same time, all the negativity that could compromise our then allies was hushed up. Soviet people knew rather vaguely that Hungary and Romania were allies of Nazi Germany during the war. Their troops invaded the USSR in 1941 and reached the Volga. The fact that the occupation regime of the Hungarians and Romanians was no less cruel than the German one was kept silent. But most of all the silences were in relation to Poland and the Polish elite. This is a generally understandable ideological line to promote the positive and maximum silencing of the negative in the history of socialist countries, after The collapse of the socialist community and the USSR led to sad consequences. The wave of new negative information that fell on people’s heads, largely (as it turned out later) consisting of lies, half-truths and outright omissions, led to dire consequences. We turned out to be unable to counter this turbid current with reason. However, thanks to almost 20 years of effort by a small group of authors and today's publishers publishing whatever they think may be in demand in the book market, the situation has changed. We have answers to most pressing questions in world history. And these answers have been tested in disputes between both historians and readers. It is gratifying that such books appear not only in Russia. Ukrainian historian and publicist Sergei Lozunko published the book “The Ugly Brainchild of Versailles”, because of which the Second World War occurred” on a very relevant topic - the role of pre-war Poland in the outbreak of the Second World War. The internal and foreign policies of Poland in 1918-1939 were examined by Soviet historiography fragmentary, and the author successfully fills in these gaps. For example, why France and Great Britain, having declared war on Germany on September 3, 1939, in response to that attack on Poland, did not actually conduct active hostilities. This war was called “strange”. behaved in 1939-40. The author shows the facts. I strongly recommend reading to everyone interested in the history of the Second World War..
