About the book: 2006 / "Alone of all the saints of the Church, Alexy received the great name of man of God. His boundless self-denial, his cruelty to himself made a deep impression on the believing Russian people,” wrote the Russian spiritual writer E. Poselyanin. The lives of saints were the favorite spiritual reading of the Russian people. Children and adults not only found in the lives an example of a pious life, but also acquired the experience of spiritual growth, the experience of love, patience, and self-sacrifice. The life of Saint Alexy, the man of God, was especially loved - they prayed to the saint for deliverance from attachment to the blessings of the world, from the love of money, and they also prayed for parents who were excessively grieving over their child’s choice of the monastic path.
