About the book: 2021 / Tana French (born 1973) is a famous Irish writer and theater actress. Born in Burlington, Vermont, USA. Her father was an economic adviser who worked in different countries, so the family traveled a lot. Most of all, the girl remembered the years of her life spent in Ireland, Italy and Malawi. From every country where Tana spent time, she drew inspiration, studied local traditions and mentality. All this subsequently played a role in the girl’s development as a writer, and received a response on the pages of her novels. Differing from other peers in her life wisdom and determination, young Tana was a fan of her work. Starting from an early age, the girl participated in various school productions, read her own poems with her family and dreamed of a great career as a writer. French's parents saw great potential in their daughter and encouraged her to develop her acting skills. French studied acting at Trinity College in Dublin. Irish culture shocked French so much that the girl decided to take an incredible step and remained to live in this country, maintaining dual citizenship of Italy and the United States. While studying professional acting, the girl completely forgot about literary fame and plunged headlong into the world of theater and cinema. Many teachers found the young talent very talented and predicted world fame for her. Tana’s development as a public person began with small roles in the theater, and then grew into acting in films and voicing characters. As the years passed, the world changed, as did French's worldview. Having passed her fortieth birthday, the actress remembered her childhood dream of becoming a great writer. Since the woman loved crime and detective dramas, the genre of her own books was based precisely on these criteria. The woman began writing her debut novel in between castings, and it was he who absorbed all the energy and uniqueness of the author. The first novel, entitled “In the Forest,” was published in 2007. The work received wide international recognition and many rave reviews. The rights to film the book as a television series were also acquired, and in 2014, a popular magazine included the work “In the Woods” in the top 50 best debut novels in the period from 1950 to 2014. Tana French, whose books are imbued with detective investigations and mystical events , named one of Ireland's most famous and promising writers.
