About the book: 2010 / End of 1975. Leningrad. Student Georgy, the only son of the Krasnopolsky couple, did not return home on December 15. At the same time, the professor of mathematical physics for whom Georgy worked also disappeared. Employees of the State Security Committee are searching for the professor. The Krasnopolsky spouses learn that the disappearance of their son may be connected with the events of December 14, when dissidents attempted to unofficially celebrate the hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the Decembrist uprising and were detained by the police. Krasnopolsky Sr. has known retired KGB general Fyodor Ignatievich Onegin since the forties and turns to him for help. The general promises to help in the search. The investigation, meanwhile, continues, but it seems to the Krasnopolsky spouses that the KGB agents are not working very actively, and they begin their own search. * * *Sergei Soloviev (born in 1956 in Leningrad).
