About the book: 2020 / Book by S.Yu. Nechaev "Napoleon. Conspiracies and Attempts" is written on the basis of documentary material. The author talks about the ongoing attempts of the royalists (right) on the one hand, and the ardent Jacobins (left) on the other, to “remove” the one whom they considered a usurper, i.e. Napoleon Bonaparte, at the moment when he came to power in France. As a result, several conspiracies and assassination attempts were organized against the first consul, and then the emperor, which, as we know, ended in failure. The author provides answers to numerous questions: is it because it happened that all of them were carried out either by unprofessional eccentrics or under strict police control who wanted to demonstrate their importance? Or maybe Napoleon himself “gave way” to the conspirators in order to increase interest in himself and contribute to his advancement to the top? And finally, were all those declared “conspirators” really such? The book is intended for a wide range of readers.
