About the book: 1990 / Creativity of L.-S. Senghor was awarded many literary awards; in 1983 he was elected to the French Academy. Senghor’s poems were repeatedly published in Russian translations, published in collections, included in various poetry anthologies, published in periodicals, and broadcast on air. The lyrical poems offered to the reader in this collection have not been translated into Russian; three of them (dating back to the fifties) were not included by the author in previous editions and were first published in the French original in the summer of 1986 - in the Paris almanac “Poetry”-86».
