About the book: 1977 / Living organisms and inorganic (inert) matter on Earth are closely related to each other and together form various complex natural systems that V.I. Vernadsky called them bioinert. In the book, bioinert systems are examined from the standpoint of geochemistry. Characterizing soils, groundwater, the biosphere and other bioinert systems, the author talks not only about how atoms move in these systems, but also how energy is converted and information changes. In the last decade, the study of bio-inert systems has become especially important in connection with the problem of nature conservation and environmental pollution. These issues are also given attention.
