About the book: 2005 / After the death of the famous author of the poem “Moscow - Petushki”, some fragmentary texts appeared here and there, and it was difficult to understand whether we are talking about some scattered sheets of paper left by Venichka, or about excerpts of some one large work. But time passed, and it became clear that these passages, sketches, parodies, notes form the main literary legacy of the most famous “philosophical drunkard” of Russian literature. They form a huge broken mirror, which is worth looking into for any Russian person. The story was written during the writer’s training at the Orekhovo-Zuevsky Pedagogical Institute. A significant part of the text has been lost. According to Yulia Runova, a fellow student at the OGPI and a close friend of the writer, the story had a variant title “At my glass».
