About the book: 2014 / The Orthodox newspaper "Parish" is not like everything you have read before, its task is to surprise and excite the spirit. The questions raised in it are intended to support a healthy discussion around the most important issues in the life of the Church, and not to stigmatize and trample. The newspaper will be of interest both to those taking their first steps in the Church or already strong parishioners, and to people who have God in their souls. Among the regular columns of the “Parish” are “Opinions”, “New Testament”, “Missionary School” and “Culture”. In the issue for the celebration of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, our traditional column “Calendar” reveals the history and meaning of the holiday. Next, in the “Missionary School,” there is an old, but not at all aged, lecture by Professor Andrei Zubov, “The Altar to the Unknown God.” This conversation is with a wise man who teaches us to respect other people's religious traditions and explains early religious forms in general. Our lecture continues with an interesting conversation from America. On American Orthodox Radio, Priest Thomas Hopko talks about his vision of the great entrance at the liturgy. What exactly happens on it? Is this only the work of priests, and how can we participate in this? What should you say when entering? How should it go?
