A hard working life in exile did not break Clara. The Zetkin family was helped by fellow fighters and friends. A detailed biography of Clara Zetkin would fill several volumes; to write it would be to write the history not only of the German but also of the international labor movement. The book offered to the reader represents only a modest attempt to tell in a very concise form about the most significant features of the life of the great German socialist.
