I don’t write my poems. They write to me, subjugating them to their will, aggressive and angry. And they do it stubbornly and persistently. “The USSR - Our Ancient Rome” is the sixth collection of poems after his release. It contains anxieties, memories, fantasies, historical reflections and reminiscences. The poetic element throws me wherever it wants both in time and in space. USSR, Europe, Byzantium, medieval Germany, Syria, Paris, Port-au-Prince (Haiti), Britain, St. Petersburg, Ancient Judea, China, the Middle East, Moldova, New York, Samarkand, Italy, the city of Engels in the Saratov region, Ukraine, Kronstadt, a village in the Ulyanovsk region, the Himalayas, Altai, and even the Abyss of Chaos, where planets rush “like hard eggs...” The poetic element makes me talk to the dead as simply as with the living.
