About the book: 2024 / Memoirs. Published: Moscow Magazine 2024 No. 4. Igor Vasilyevich Kokhanovsky was born in 1937 in Magadan, into a repressed family. Graduated from the V.V. Kuibyshev MISI and the A.M. Gorky Literary Institute. Poet and lyricist. He worked as a civil engineer at Moscow facilities. In 1964 he left for Magadan, where he worked for the Magadansky Komsomolets newspaper, then was a prospector in Chukotka. He wrote lyrics for 89 songs performed by Soviet and Russian pop stars. He composed many songs for the Polish singer Anna German, and also translated song poetry from Polish. He collaborated with the rock groups “Carnival”, “Dynamic”, “Araks”, and with many VIAs. Lives in Moscow.
