The internal conflict of the story "I Live Well" develops in the situation , seemingly devoid of the possibility of any conflict: an old man who came from the village to visit his son in the city, lives in excellent conditions, surrounded by love and attention from his family. But, accustomed to working all his life, the old man feels unnecessary to people, lonely, and suffers from idleness. The story “Zhenya” is dedicated to his difficult post-war childhood. “The Redhead from the Mechanical Shop”, “No Winter”, “Vasena” and others are stories about the workers of the Non-Black Earth Region. In them, the author achieves expressive accuracy in depicting characters. The stories well convey the uniqueness of nature, its poetry and discreet beauty.
