About the book: 2013 / The fourth book by Yulia Mamocheva, a 19-year-old “Stikhanovite,” in which the author appears to us not only in a poetic, familiar to the reader, form, but and as a prose writer, playwright, translator, painter. “Insectarium” is a collection of cockroaches, goosebumps and butterflies that live only in the stomach of the “girl from St. Petersburg” who conquered Moscow. Yulia Mamocheva was born in the city on the Neva on May 19, 1994. She began writing poetry (as well as drawing) at the age of 4, and translated her first poetic work (“Angel” by W. Blake) at the age of 11. Having entered MGIMO as a prize-winner of the first channel’s “clever girls and smart girls” program, she moved to Moscow in September 2011; She is currently a third-year student at the Faculty of International Journalism at one of the most prestigious universities in the country. Yulia Mamocheva is the author of four books, for the second of which (the collection “Poetofiligree”) she was awarded the Bunin Prize in the field of modern poetry in 2012. Yulia’s third collection, “Soul Inside Out,” was released in May 2013 by the publishing house “Helikon+” by the famous writer and journalist D. Bykov. Yulia is the winner and prize-winner of a number of literary competitions and festivals of the All-Russian scale, including the competition named after Grand Duke K. R., organized annually by the State Russian Museum, and the All-Russian poetry festival “Mtsyri».
