About the book: year / Andreas began writing at the age of 12, but his first professional publication was the story "Dolls", which appeared on the pages of the German computer magazine C't magazine in 1991. In 1994, Eschbach received a fellowship from the Amo-Schmidt Foundation as a literary gifted young author. In 1995, Andreas's debut science fiction novel, Die Haarteppichknüpfer, was published, which received the most prestigious award in the world of German science fiction, the SFCD-Literaturpreis. This book was then translated into French and received genre awards in Belgium and France, the English version of the novel called “The Carpet Makers” was included in the top 10 of the popular SF portal “SFSite” and took a place in the “Recommended reading list 2005” of the magazine "Locus". In 1996, the novel “Solarstation” appeared, which was awarded the Kurt Lasswitz Prize and the “SFCD-Literaturpreis” (in the category “Best German Novel”). All subsequent novels by the author also became bestsellers and collected the majority of German SF awards.
