The author of this book, journalist Alexander Ivanovich Belousov, was born in 1929 in the village of Pokrovka, Oktyabrsky district, Perm region. After graduating from seven-year school, he worked on the railway and at the Uralmash plant in Sverdlovsk. After serving in the army, he studied at the school of electric locomotive drivers and worked at the Chusovsky Electric Depot. Since 1956, he began publishing stories in the newspapers Chusovskoy Rabochiy, Putevka, and Gudok.
