    About the book: 2007 / The period of 1917–1918 was a crisis and tragedy in the history of Ukraine and other states formed on the ruins of the Russian Empire. In-depth research by Professor O.S. Fedyushin concerns not only the expansion of Germany to the East, but also the problems of Crimea, the Black Sea basin, the Polish question, as well as relations between Russia and Germany. German efforts to overthrow the Rada and establish the hetmanship of General Skoropadsky are analyzed in detail. The scientist is based on German and Austrian archival materials, which were captured by the Allies after the fall of Berlin in 1945. Fedyushin presents different points of view on complex political issues and correctly sets out his vision of the problem, giving a clear assessment of German policy in the East.
