About the book: 1976 / Vladimir Savchenko is a prose writer and playwright, the author of several stories, plays, film scripts and many short stories. He has considerable life experience behind him: a graduate of the Suvorov Military School, an anti-aircraft gunner officer, he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University, worked as a literary employee at Komsomolskaya Pravda, and as an engineer at the Likhachev Automobile Plant. His works were published in the magazines “New World”, “Prostor”, “Moscow”, “Knowledge is Power” and others; the television films “Blue Balls Pharmacy” and “Two Captains” were based on his scripts. “The Secret of the Oilcloth Notebook” is the first historical writer's story. It is dedicated to one of the most courageous, fearless Russian revolutionaries - Nikolai Vasilyevich Kletochnikov. Having penetrated into the very center of the tsarist investigation, for two years he served for the revolutionary underground as a reliable shield and lightning rod, virtually paralyzing the activities of the police. Archival research allowed the author to significantly supplement the information about Kletochnikov available in historical literature.
