About the book: 2012 / Federigo Tozzi (1883–1920) - Italian writer, novelist, short story writer, playwright, poet. In the history of European literature of the 20th century, he appears as the most outstanding Italian novelist of the last two hundred years, along with Giovanni Verga and Luigi Pirandello, and as a trendsetter of Italian prose of the 20th century. In 1918, Tozzi, in an extremely short period of time, wrote the novels “The Estate” and “Three cross" - about how money relationships destroy human nature. Both novels were published posthumously (in 1920). Almost all of Tozzi's works deal with people he knew well - Tuscan peasants and small owners, and with difficult, sometimes unbearable relationships between people. Siena, with its centuries-old history and unique charm, occupies a special place in his books. True fame came to the writer when he had been dead for a long time.
