About the book: 1972 / “The Wall of Iskandar”, the fifth and last poem of the “Finary”, is a voluminous, multifaceted epic work in which the main issues are reflected, excited the minds and hearts of the people of that distant time and represents a true encyclopedia of social life and thoughts of the Navoi era. The main character of the poem is Iskandar, and almost the entire plot of the work is connected with his personality, with his activities and worldview. In the person of the great commander of antiquity, Navoi creates the image of an ideal ruler and contrasts him with the statesmen of his era. Iskandar is not limited to caring for the prosperity of his country, he is occupied with the fate of the peoples of the world who are ruined and languish under the yoke of their enslavers.
