MediaDB / «Classical Buddhist practices. The path of a noble personality" Elena Ostrovskaya, Tatyana Ermakova: download fb2, read online
About the book: 2006 / This book is a thematic continuation of the work “Classical Buddhism", previously published in this series. Based on the written heritage of Indian teachers of antiquity and the early Middle Ages, on the treatise of the great Buddhist master Vasubandhu (IV–V centuries) “Encyclopedia of Abhidharma” (“Abhidharmakosha”), the authors outline the foundations and practical side of the teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni about entering nirvana - the path of transformation an ordinary person into a noble person, not subject to suffering. The book “Classical Buddhist Practices” consists of two parts. Part one, which we are currently presenting to the reader, is devoted to the practice of intuitive comprehension of the Noble Truths. The book describes in detail the initial stage of asceticism - classical Buddhist practices that lead the “ordinary person” to the Noble path of intuitive comprehension of reality. The reader will discover the purpose and essence of the practice of contemplating disgusting objects, the goals and methods of full consciousness of the breathing process, special practices of concentrating attention and their role in the intuitive comprehension of reality. In turn, the second part will be devoted to the highest methods of Buddhist yoga leading to Nirvana.
