About the book: 2019 / Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov (1814–1841) - Russian poet, prose writer, playwright, artist. A descendant of Georg Lermont, a native of Scotland, who was captured during the siege of the Belaya fortress at the beginning of the 17th century. His life was short, but his bright talent developed surprisingly early: poems and even poems written by Lermontov at the age of 14 have been preserved. He was gifted with amazing musicality - he played the violin, the piano, sang, composed music based on his own poems. Lermontov’s creative heritage includes poetry, prose, drama: realistic, romantic and even satirical works. And it lies not only in the glorification of Borodino’s victory (“Borodino”, 1837), in the lines “I love my fatherland...” (“Motherland”, 1841), but also in those works that talk about the fate of a generation, about the purpose of the poet, about a lonely prisoner, about exile, about the emptiness of life.
