About the book: 2002 / Gavrilov Sergey Vitalievich, full member of the Russian Geographical Society, member of the Union of Journalists of Russia. Born in Kamchatka in the village of Ozernaya in 1962. Since 1972 he has lived in the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. A marine engineer by training, he graduated from the Far Eastern Technical Institute of Fishing Industry and Economy in 1984. Currently he teaches at the Kamchatka State Technical University at the maritime department. The author's scientific interests include the history of the development of ship technology, problems of maritime transport development of the Okhotsk-Kamchatka coast, historical aspects of the development of the fishing industry of Kamchatka.
