About the book: 1976 / Where does the rainbow come from in the sky? The ancient Greeks thought that the rainbow was the road between heaven and earth. In China they believed that this was a heavenly dragon... Or maybe a rainbow - the multi-colored umbrellas of seven old women sparkling in the sun, whom a hurricane lifted into the sky? The story of seven sisters with amazing names, each dressed in a dress of her choice, was invented by Cuban writer Manuel Cofiño Lopez. “Once upon a time, in the depths of the forest, there were seven sisters: Alejandra - the Rememberer, Beatrice - the Dreamer, Veronica - the Gardener, Gabriela - the Healer of Diseases, Domiana - the Storyteller, Edviga - the Embroiderer, Zhanneta - the Caller of Birds." Each of the old women with amazing names dresses in clothes of a certain color and does his favorite thing: imitates the voices of birds, embroiders patterns that come to life, grows laughing flowers, heals with delicious fruit juice and cinnamon sugar, composes fairy tales or even entire worlds, travels to the past. Illustrations by Viktor Pivovarov perfectly convey the exotic and rainbow world of Lopez's fairy tale.
