About the book: year / The action takes place in 1446–1451, when Mehmed, the future Conqueror, was brought up in Manisa, far from the Turkish capital and far from Radu, with whom I haven’t even met yet. Mehmed, somewhere halfway between adolescence and youth, begins a relationship with a young Greek teacher - a peculiar relationship, since the teacher applies to the student the ancient Greek method of teaching, based on love. Subsequently, Mehmed, trying to apply this method to Radu, vulgarized the whole idea. This is not what the teacher taught Mehmed at all, but what happened was what happened. (The Facts and Figures section at the end of the novel will show that this story could very well have actually happened).
