About the book: 1989 / The book by journalist M. Fonotov includes essays and short stories published at different times in the newspaper “Chelyabinsky Rabochiy”, soulfully and lyrically telling about the amazing corners of the Southern Urals, its people who are generous with their kindness. At the same time, the author acutely raises the question of the need to preserve unique natural monuments for our descendants, to instill in young people a sense of love for nature, and a caring attitude towards the environment. The essays “Miass River” and “Ural Forest” were written after environmental expeditions in collaboration with B. Kirshin.
