About the book: 2012 / 20 years have passed since the destruction of the Soviet Union. This is our history, and is the topic of our Soviet past more interesting to historians? Is it worth analyzing the Soviet project in detail now? Is this really relevant now? In modern Russia today there are already enough problems. Maybe it’s better to analyze and solve modern problems? The Soviet project was the pinnacle of Russian development! We have to admit that, despite all the shortcomings, things were worse before and after the USSR. This was not accidental; Russia simply chose a social model that corresponded to the spirit of the people. Something that was impossible to imagine happened. In an illiterate, backward country, a few years later, their own cars, planes, ships, and the best types of weapons in the world appeared. The leading European power with its many allies attacked the USSR and was defeated. The Soviet Union competed in a space race with the United States. And the leading capitalist power lost to us. What happened in Tsarist Russia is now perceived as a fairy tale. Soviet science and education are the best in the world. A whole galaxy of Russian physicists, mathematicians, chemists, biologists appears. We were a superpower! Half the world looked at the USSR with hope. Even in their most rosy fantasies, the Slavophiles could not imagine this. Is all this our past? Will Russia be reborn again? Will we regain our former greatness? Will the Russian people be able to rise up or will they quietly fade into oblivion? Humanity is waiting for us to answer these questions! This book is not about our past, but about our present and, most importantly, our future. Because all problems, ultimately, in modern Russia stem from a lack of understanding of who we are.
