About the book: 1988 / June 22, 1941, the Nazi invaders attacked our country. The Great Patriotic War began. The entire Soviet people stood up to defend their Motherland. In the fall of 1941, the enemies managed to approach almost Moscow itself. German planes broke through to the city and dropped bombs on houses. Moscow became a front-line city. Thousands of Muscovites built barrier structures, dug trenches, stood guard on the roofs of houses, extinguishing incendiary bombs. There were fierce battles on the approaches to Moscow. In October, Soviet troops stopped the advance of the Nazi troops, and in December they went on the offensive and drove the enemy far from Moscow. This was the first decisive step towards Victory. But life in the city continued to be harsh and tense and obeyed one requirement: “Everything for the front, everything for victory!” There were many children in Moscow who, along with adults, tried to help the front, our soldiers, to the best of their ability. One such girl is described in this book.
