But his former boss did not forget about him, who planned to destroy him. Pavel is invited to celebrate the Old New Year in a house where secular Kiev society gathers. He has a conflict with a magician sent by his former boss. A struggle ensues between them, which becomes more exciting and deadly every day. Fascinatingly, with knowledge of the subject, ancient and new methods of manipulating people's consciousness are described. Pavel wins and finds his happiness in a “stall at the market”, falling in love with the saleswoman. A new life awaits them ahead, “a happy whirling of years.” But it all ends with an unexpected ending that will not leave the reader indifferent. Overall, this is a touching and dramatic story of a man who is crazy about the morals of our time, this is a parable about hatred and betrayal, about loyalty and love, and the choices that each of us makes.
