About the book: 1986 / The first book of the young Belarusian prose writer Vladimir Butromeev was written unconventionally. The story of the touching love of teenagers, a meeting with a semi-literate old man who knows entire chapters from “War and Peace” by heart, the worries and concerns of a young rural teacher, a lyrical sketch of a landscape, memories of distant times - all this is organically included in his stories and tales, in in which the author tries, through the simplicity of everyday life, to comprehend the moral and philosophical problems that sooner or later face every person. In the story “Where there is a holiday, there I am,” the author, using folklore stories, vividly and interestingly talks about the adventures of the cheerful and dexterous Nesterka.
