About the book: 2021 / Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky is a world-famous marine painter, a representative of the “golden age” of Russian culture, one of the few Russian artists who has gained great worldwide fame. The author of about six thousand works, a participant in more than one hundred and twenty exhibitions, a holder of many Russian and foreign orders, he also found time for extensive social, educational, and charitable activities. Traveling through the countries of Western Europe, trips to Turkey and the Caucasus became important milestones in his creative path, but he still drew inspiration primarily from his native Feodosia. Creative ideas, inspiration, mental relaxation and the desire for new achievements were given to him by the Black Sea, to which he dedicated his talent. Two elements - the sea and the picturesque - were perceived by him inseparably as the constant source of creativity, accompanying his life path, his disappointments and successes, storms and calms, accompanying the desire of a true artist to serve Art and the Fatherland.
