MediaDB / «Moscow and the Horde" Anton Gorsky: download fb2, read online
About the book: 2003 / The monograph is devoted to the relations between the Moscow principality and the Golden Horde from the end of the 13th to the beginning of the 16th century. In it, in contrast to previous historiography, which paid serious attention to only two key episodes - the Battle of Kulikovo and the liberation from the power of the Horde - it consistently examines the development of Moscow-Horde relations over two and a half centuries. As a result, it turns out that the established (albeit contradictory) postulates - “the Horde’s support for Moscow” and “the fight against the Horde yoke” - have little correspondence with historical reality. Issues such as the attitude of the first Moscow princes - Daniil Alexandrovich and Yuri Danilovich - to the Horde, the consequences of the conflict between Dmitry Donskoy and Tokhtamysh in 1382, the dating and circumstances of the liberation of Moscow from Horde dependence are being resolved in a new way. For historians and a wide range of readers interested in the history of the Fatherland.
