About the book: 1970 / Author of memoirs A. I. Verkhovsky - career officer, witness and participant in major historical events that took place during the era of the First World War and the February Revolution of 1917 in Russia. Speaking about that period, the author shows how the ruling circles of the bourgeoisie, together with the top command staff, developed a plan for the removal of Nicholas II and prepared a conspiracy against the growing revolution. After the February Revolution, Verkhovsky was appointed by the Provisional Government to the post of commander of the Moscow Military District, and then Minister of War. Verkhovsky truthfully tells about those disagreements with Kornilov and with the Kornilovism, which led him to a break with the reactionary officers, and then to secession from the Provisional Government.
